Reds Garden Center is a family-owned business that has been serving Chicago's North Shore community since 1968. Beginning as a farm market selling
fruits and vegetables from its 6-acre Northbrook site, the operation expanded a year later to include nursery and firewood sales. Shortly after the nursery
business began, Red purchased farmland in Lake Zurich and began growing his own nursery stock, enabling Reds Garden Center to provide quality plants
at the best possible price. A gift shop specializing in home and garden décor and outdoor everything was added in 1994, and shortly thereafter Red's
began to offer complete landscape and design services.
In early 2002, Reds acquired the property formerly occupied by North Wheel Farm and once again expanded the inventory of plant material and garden supplies
to include a huge selection of annuals, perennials, over 40 varieties of roses, and a new home-grown vegetable market. The Gift & Patio Shop at Reds was also
enlarged to include an ever-wider selection of outdoor furniture, statuary, candles, frogs, holiday decorations, and garden doo-dads.
